HAPPY WEEKEND

Also available in: Deutsch (German)

With a radiant smile and the slogan “I’m a Happy Girl,” VPS CEO Andreas Kirchen launched an exclusive photo shoot at the 2025 Venus fair in Berlin that quickly developed into one of the industry’s most successful marketing campaigns. What began as a glamorous gathering of the cover stars of Happy Weekend magazine has become a true win-win story – and it will continue in 2026.

A success story of print, social media and community

Nine erotic models who had previously appeared on the cover of the traditional Happy Weekend magazine came together for the shoot. The result: they jointly adorned the cover of issue 1223, were presented in exclusive interviews and advertised the Happy Weekend Club for an entire year with monthly ads. The numbers speak for themselves: the models received valuable promotion for themselves and their portals, while the club’s membership figures rose noticeably.

“It was a win-win situation,” Andreas Kirchen is delighted to say. “The models got good promotion for themselves and their portals, and the number of club members has risen considerably. Nowadays you always need new ideas to attract attention and stand out from the competition.”

Happy Weekend: more than 50 years of cult status and innovation

Happy Weekend is far more than just a magazine – it is a piece of German erotic history. Since 1972 the cult publication has accompanied the scene, starting as a bold contact magazine at a time of strict legal frameworks. It developed into Germany’s best-known and highest-circulation contact magazine (at times reaching up to 90,000 copies), offering anonymous coded ads, swinger-club reports, interviews and authentic insights into the amateur and professional worlds.

After an interim phase in 2016/2017 the magazine enjoyed a successful relaunch under the umbrella of VPS Film-Entertainment GmbH as a monthly title. Today it combines classic print content with the digital Happy Weekend Club (happyweekend-club.de) – a vibrant online community for spontaneous dates, events and like-minded people. VPS, one of Germany’s largest adult-entertainment distributors, ensures the professional further development of the brand and elegantly brings tradition and modernity together.

Strong names and new highlights in 2026

At Venus 2025 Andreas Kirchen was also able to score with another coup: the acquisition of the complete Teresa Orlowski catalogue. The legendary VTO classics of the German porn pioneer are returning in remastered form – a real highlight for fans and collectors.

The Happy Girl campaign has been so well received that it will be repeated in 2026. This time the cover girls of the last nine issues take centre stage: Ronya Rabe, Mia May, Lena Desire, Devils Akita, Kira Knight, Sweet Mery, Ada Shelby and Venus ambassador Jenny Stella. The result of this new glamorous session will be seen on the cover of the January issue 1235 of Happy Weekend.

Looking ahead: networking that inspires everyone

The campaign exemplifies how print, social media and the models’ networks can benefit from one another. Monthly advertisements, personal stories from the stars and the strong community of the club create visibility and real added value. With creative ideas, strong partners and a loyal fan base, Happy Weekend once again proves that even after more than five decades the brand remains fresh, relevant and full of joie de vivre.
