Boca Raton, Florida (November 5, 2026) – Segpay, a leading global provider of digital payment processing, has announced the expansion of its Pay by Bank service to a total of eight European markets. The payment method, previously available in the United Kingdom and Germany, is now also available in Belgium, Finland, France, Ireland, the Netherlands and Spain.
Direct Bank Payments Without a Credit Card
With Pay by Bank, customers can pay directly from their bank account – without using a credit or debit card. The service is powered by TrueLayer and uses real-time payment networks such as SEPA Instant in the European Union and Faster Payments in the United Kingdom.
Customers simply select their bank and approve the payment in their banking app, usually via Face ID or fingerprint. No card details need to be entered. Purchase confirmation is received within seconds.
Fewer Chargebacks, Greater Security for Merchants
A key advantage: Because the payment is authorized directly through the customer’s bank, traditional card-network chargebacks are eliminated. Refunds are still supported.
Cathy Beardsley, President and CEO of Segpay, emphasizes: “Not every customer wants to pay with a credit card, and we want to make sure our merchants have options. Pay by Bank gives them another way to accept payments, without the chargeback concerns that come with traditional card transactions.”
Availability and Use Cases
Pay by Bank is currently available for one-time purchases in GBP and EUR. It supports Segpay’s billing models One-Time, Digital Purchase and Dynamic Pricing. Recurring payments are not currently supported.
