If you are new to Only Fans or other fan portals, you will mainly generate revenue by selling content in the form of videos or photos. In contrast to the amateur portals, there is no option to charge for text messages. At best, customers can be asked to pay indirectly by means of paid subscriptions. However, this is at least rather unusual in German-speaking countries.
Nevertheless, there are other methods of generating revenue on Only Fans and other fan portals in addition to pure content sales. One of these is the Dick Rating, which we have already written a separate article about. The other point here is the so-called custom video. Sooner or later, a customer will come with exactly this request.
What exactly is a custom video?
This type of content is produced individually for a specific customer. However, there is a trick that allows it to be used for other purposes, but more on that later. First of all, the customer comes and wants to see very specific content in the video. This could be masturbation in a way that they particularly like, for example. Or you use a very specific hay, or wear lingerie according to his instructions. There are virtually no limits to your imagination here. Important: sometimes the customer will also give you the appropriate paraphernalia, i.e. toys or clothing, which you can do via an Amazon wish list, for example. Then the most important thing for the customer: they usually want to be addressed directly in the video. This means, for example, that you start with a sentence like “Dear Thomas, I made this video especially for you because you’re such a nice guy.” Rarely will it be the same, but as a rule, the custom video always includes the customer’s name. If the customer doesn’t tell you where to mention their name, always do it at the very beginning or at the very end. There is a simple reason for this: you can of course market the video in other ways. You simply make a second version where you cut out the mention of the name. This is technically easiest if it is at the very beginning or end of the video. Some clients are clever and already know this trick, so they explicitly ask for the name to be mentioned in the centre of the video. If it pays well enough, you should of course do this, but always try to do it in the margins. In the worst case, you can also cut it out in the centre, but that’s more work. Of course, in this case, using it elsewhere does not mean that you post the same video that you produced individually for one customer again publicly in the timeline or elsewhere. This will rightly annoy the customer. However, you can very well sell it as content to other customers in the edited version. Speaking of payment:
How much can a custom video cost?
Let’s get to the crucial question. What can you charge for a custom video? Of course, a completely different rate applies here than for any video that you sell to many customers. After all, you have made the effort specifically for one customer and dedicated it to them. In fact, the pricing here is also very individual. As a rough guide, you can say that around $25-50 is usual for a custom video on Only Fans. The duration is a few minutes. However, this is only a very rough value, you always have to respond to your customer individually. Don’t go over the top, but if you realise that the customer is a big spender, you can go up to $50 or even more. There are indeed creators who charge $25 per minute, for example. On the other hand, there are customers who say: but another model will make me the same video for ten dollars. You should stay away from such demands, also to avoid spoiling the prices.
When is the video paid for and how?
Here, too, there are procedures that have become established on the fan portals. Under no circumstances should you produce the video without any down payment and then hope that the customer will buy it from you when it’s finished. You will be disappointed very quickly. It is actually common practice to ask for half of the agreed amount in advance as a tip, and to sell the video to the client for the remaining 50% of the agreed price as soon as it is finished.
Actively promote a custom video
In some cases, customers will ask you if you would like to make a customised video for them. The second option is to advertise a custom video very specifically, for example in your timeline or in your mass mails to fans. Here you can also directly state your rate and how many minutes the video would take. You can also suggest a few topics to the customer, perhaps in relation to toys or just ask what clothes you should wear for them or how you should do it best. After all, it is his individual video, which he is “directing” to a certain extent. In any case, you should let the fans or customers know that you always offer this.
Conclusion: The custom video is an important element of your portfolio on fan portals. However, always make sure that you do not come into conflict with the terms and conditions of the respective portal. Any reference to alcohol or smoking is prohibited on OnlyFans, for example. You must decline such requests to avoid the risk of having your profile blocked.
