Ruxandra is CEO of the Bucharest Summit and has been involved since the beginning in 2017. She can look back on seven years of experience and knows the market players in Europe like no other. CASZIN was able to talk to Ruxandra about the history, background, content and plans of the Bucharest Summit.

Bernhard Bradatsch:
Hello Ruxandra, I’m happy that we can talk a bit about the background to the Bucharest Summit today.
The event is now one of the most established industry gatherings in Europe and you started in 2017. How did you manage to make the event so popular in such a short space of time?

Ruxandra Tataru:
Bucharest Summit has been on the market since 2017, we are now on our 7th edition and since the beginning our main purpose has been to create a professional space for the industry to grow. We established from the beginning a high quality experience, from top speakers and companies that attended to the services that we offer during the Summit, so everyone that attends can have a full experience of knowledge, network and entertainment.

Bernhard Bradatsch:
Can you perhaps briefly say something about the most important changes over the seven years?

Ruxandra Tataru:
We adapt our content on the panels depending on the trends of the industry. I would say that the platforms like Onlyfans bring the most changes in the industry, it made it more “mainstream” therefore the stigma regarding it dropped a few percent, that gave us a voice and the adult streaming industry began to have an industry on its own.

Bernhard Bradatsch:
Many people see the focus of your event in the areas of cam(girls) and studios, which also plays a big role in Romania. But you also mention affiliates, creators, influencers and the entire associated network with traffic, billing and (fan) portals as focal points. Can you say what the Bucharest Summit is mainly focused on ?

“Bucharest Summit will always be about the live cam entertainment, Studios and models play the most important role in our event, the platforms are coming to our event to meet with them, make deals, discuss new contracts and so on. Our panels and seminars are focused on the models, teaching them how to perform better, how to grow their social accounts, which platform fits them best, how to pay their taxes and so on. But, this industry, like any other, functions with many other parts so yes, the payments processing companies are also there for meeting the platforms, the affiliates and traffic sources companies as well, the agencies that are managing OF accounts always have new solutions, we now also have many AI tools companies and so on. “
Ruxandra Tataru

This industry is one of the most advanced in technology, imagine streaming live thousands of models all around the world, at the same time, so if new technologies appears, in the adult industry you will see it first type applied.

Bernhard Bradatsch:
Your event is generally very international. Can you say which countries or regions are particularly well represented at your event?

Ruxandra Tataru:
Besides Romania, where we have a large presence in the industry, are attending many models and studios from all over the world: from Colombia to America, Ukrainian, Russia, UK, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, and the platforms that are mostly international.

Bernhard Bradatsch:
You are calling your summit “2.0” this year. Do you see a change in the technology that underlies all marketing in the adult biz?

Ruxandra Tataru:
2.0 was a remarketing strategy after the Covid period, when we had to make people fall in love again with physical events. We bringed some changes in the schedule and gave more power of speaking to the models, we integrated them as speakers and adapted our panels according to their needs. As regarding the technology, AI tools will definitely make a huge change in the upcoming years. We now see AI generated models, or different tools that help the monetization of the content.

Bernhard Bradatsch:
In addition to the classic trade fair stands, you are organizing a “Meet Market Carnival”. What exactly can I imagine by this, a kind of “business speed dating” to quickly and easily make initial contacts among the participants, which can then be intensified later at your leisure ?

Ruxandra Tataru:
As event organizers, our main goal is for everyone that attends our event to leave with a turn of investment, a good deal or a great learning experience. Meet Market comes, on the last day of the event, to help even more the networking. Is the moment that all the Sponsors have an opportunity to offer their products and services to the audience. Yes, it is like a speed business dating, 2 hours of networking and mingling. Usually they bring all types of items to attract the audience to their stand, and we also organize many raffles to encourage them to attend.

Bernhard Bradatsch:
You have separate “meeting rooms” for important market participants such as Amateur.TV, Live Jasmin, Stripchat or Friends2Follow. Are these “quiet rooms” so to speak, in order to be able to have concrete and in-depth discussions with the respective companies?

Ruxandra Tataru:
Yes, platforms like those that are main leaders of the industry and usually are attending Bucharest Summit with a large team, including their C-level executives, for the specific purpose of meeting and establishing the new needs and the direction of their platforms. Are many meetings happening during the Summit between the platforms and studios, models, agencies and those rooms are dedicated for that.

Bernhard Bradatsch:
A question about cam concepts in general, which maybe play an important role for your event, keyword freemium vs. premium. The former has long been dominant among cam portals in the USA, for example. In Europe, there is sometimes a preference among customers for premium. Do you think that the freemium trend will now spread to Europe and push back premium cams?

Ruxandra Tataru:
That is true but I believe there will always be a market for both types of services, the fact that now there is also a trend of freemium models has to do with the evolution of the market in Europe, and that more models are joining the platforms and the industry.

Bernhard Bradatsch:
You have an extensive and famous supporting program with a large award gala and numerous parties. Does this also play an important role in networking and deepening business contacts?

Ruxandra Tataru:
Bucharest Summit is created to offer an entire experience, so beside the knowledge part we make sure people are also entertained so yes, the parties play an important role and we make sure that no one will forget it. The Awards Gala is the moment when the best of the best are crowned, is a very desired award and through the years we tried to make it as transparent as possible.

Bernhard Bradatsch:
There will also be numerous panels, lectures and company presentations. Can you briefly say what the most important topics will be?
