Boi Hunter: Fox at Pornfilmfestival Berlin – T4T Chemistry in the Trans Porn Shorts Program

Pornfilmfestival Berlin

Also available in: Deutsch (German)

Pornfilmfestival Berlin – a fixture since 2006

Pornfilmfestival Berlin has been one of the most important addresses for independent, queer and sexually progressive cinema for two decades. Founded in 2006 by filmmaker and producer Jürgen Brüning as the first festival of its kind in Germany, it sees itself as a non-commercial, publicly unfunded forum for sexuality, politics, feminism, gender diversity, post-porn and body politics. Every year around 25 to 30 feature-length films and about 100 short films are screened, complemented by panels, lectures, workshops and performances. The audience is internationally mixed, slightly more than half of it female, and the venues – including Germany’s oldest cinema, Moviemento in Kreuzberg, as well as Babylon Kreuzberg – are a firm part of Berlin’s festival culture. In 2026 the 21st edition takes place from 20 to 25 October.

Programmed twice: Boi Hunter: Fox

Within this framework the festival has selected the 15-minute festival cut of Boi Hunter: Fox – and programmed it twice. The film screens in the Trans Porn Shorts block, which brings together films exploring trans desire, everyday realities, fantasy and T4T connection. The screenings: Wednesday, 21 October at 9:30 PM at Moviemento and Sunday, 25 October at 4:00 PM at Babylon Kreuzberg. Tickets and further information at PornfilmfestivalBerlin.de.

T4T twist on the classic pick-up trope

Directed by Vanniall and Ashley Lake, the film puts a T4T spin on the classic pick-up porn trope: it centres trans chemistry, desire and the thrill of being seen and wanted. It is a selection from the first episode in Studio Vanniall’s Boi Hunter series, which will continue to release throughout the year and culminate in a DVD.

Voices of the makers

Vanniall said: “Berlin has been one of those festivals I’ve most wanted Boi Hunter to reach, so seeing it programmed twice in Trans Porn Shorts feels incredibly special. The film plays with something very familiar and turns it into something specifically ours. We had a lot of fun playing fictionalized versions of ourselves as amateur pornographers, which felt like a love letter to myself a decade ago. I’m excited for audiences in Berlin to finally see it.”

Ashley Lake, the cinematographer, added: “Boi Hunter: Fox was a ton of fun to film, something intentionally lofi amongst our much higher production launch lineup. This first episode has a grungy country cruising feel mixed with some of our decidedly European influences on styling, nodding to some of our favorite source material in this genre. We can’t help our narrative impulses, though, so keep an eye on Studio Vanniall to see these budding pornographers grow, acquire better gear through dubious means, and get in some over the top trouble. After all, we plotted this out for a DVD!”

Studio Vanniall’s second appearance in Berlin

This is Studio Vanniall’s second screening at Pornfilmfestival Berlin, having previously featured Transit, co-starring Jiz Lee. Both titles are part of the launch slate on studiovanniall.com. The studio will be represented at the festival by Production Coordinator Jaq Quicksilver, who is based in Amsterdam and spearheads the studio’s European efforts.

The Boi Hunter DVD and further launch series

The Boi Hunter DVD will collect one of several Studio Vanniall launch series. First episodes of Cockwife Next Door and Dickgirl After Dark have already been announced; already fully available for streaming are The MostlyPics House Season One and Cruising For Girlcock.
