Stefan Mühlbauer and Valeria Pagano chat for over 30 minutes. She is certainly known to many, as she has been working in marketing in the adult industry for around eight years. In total, she already has 25 years of experience in sales.
When they started working in the industry, the proportion of women in Affiliate Management was “perhaps 20 percent” (Stefan Mühlbauer); today, men are almost in the minority in some account management positions.
What could have been the reasons for this significant change? Valeria and Stefan provide some interesting and plausible answers.
It also thoroughly dispels the prejudice that women (not only) in the erotic industry gain advantages “with their charms”. Qualifications and perseverance get you to your goal, perhaps supplemented by empathy, especially in marketing.
The statement “men are better at sales” is long outdated and belongs in the moth box of prejudices. Valeria and Stefan vividly demonstrate this in their interview. They also demonstrate why “agressive sales” do not lead to success, especially in the adult industry, and why trust in the respective business partners is particularly important here.
Another special topic is “niche marketing”, in which Valeria is active. In the interview, she talks about how she deals with the “dirty aspects” of content in presentations.
The assessment that everyone in the industry meets like a “big family” at the relevant events rounds off the conversation and makes it all the more interesting to find out the background to this.
Valeria tells all this and gives valuable tips and advice for women who want to get started in marketing or management in the industry.
So listen to the podcast, which is both entertaining and informative for women and men:
